Sony is planning the introduction of an updated line of its eBook reader to go directly to the main rival to challenge current market leader, or Amazon with its Kindle. The launch of the new eBook Reader is expected next month in the United States and should debut later this year in other markets, including Europe.

The new Sony Reader, for example, will have a price that will lie between 180 and 300 dollars and probably will be offered with a variety of improvements both on the hardware than on software, as explained during a recent interview Phil Lubell, Vice President of division of Sony Electronics e-Reader.
